Junior Church

Junior Church meets on Sunday mornings during the middle part of the Sunday worship. The young people are present at the start and end of the service but leave to take part in their own activities for part of the time. All ages are welcome and the activities they take part in are numerous and varied depending on the age group involved. For example: drawings, posters and models are designed based on the current study theme in the Junior Church and these are often displayed in the church after completion; discussion groups on topics relevant to the life of teenagers today; preparation of drama pieces for presenting to the rest of the congregation as part of the Sunday service; practising for musical presentations to the rest of the congregation. Our young people are very talented and it is a delight when they share their activities with the "older" people. New members are always welcome.

St. Andrew's FURY (Fellowship of United Reformed Youth) Group

FURY

The young people of St. Andrew's meet on a Sunday evening at 7.00 pm to enjoy each other's fellowship and join together in a number of activities. As well as meeting on Sunday evenings they organise a number of other social activities, outings, etc., throughout the year.

FURY is an organisation for young people in United Reformed churches throughout the country. FURY aims to support, encourage, challenge and work with young people, so that they can grow in the Christian Faith and discover for themselves their part in God's world today. Fury aims to do this through worship (displaying deep affection and respect to God), prayer (talking to God, thanking God and asking God for help), involvement (including, taking part, working together), giving (making a present of time, energy, yourself) and learning (finding out more). FURY activities take place throughout the year but the major event is the annual assembly where the young people meet new friends, worship, find people with similar interests, discuss a wide range of topics.
