Sunday Worship Church Front - Harvest

Sunday Worship

We meet every Sunday morning at 10.45 am in the church for our weekly worship service which lasts for about an hour and has a format which includes hymns, prayers, readings, a time for giving, a time for the young people and a sermon. The young people spend part of the worship time in the Junior Church but the whole congregation starts and ends worship together. Crèche facilities are available for very young children.

Communion Services

Communion services are held quarterly on the first Sunday in March, June and December and the second Sunday in September. Communion is served as part of normal Sunday worship on those days and all are welcome to share it. In addition two special communion services are held at Easter: the Tenebrae Communion Service on Maundy Thursday and an Easter Communion on Easter Sunday.

Special Services

Special services are held throughout the year to recognise specific times in the Church's year or for St. Andrew's in particular. Sometimes these form part of our regular Sunday worship and sometimes they are additional services. For example: at Christmas there are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services in addition to a Junior Church Christmas Service and a service of lessons and carols; at Easter there is a special Tenebrae service on Maundy Thursday; we hold special services at harvest, on the anniversary of St. Andrew's foundation in early November and for Mothering Sunday.

Time for God

Time for God is a quiet time set aside for prayer on a Tuesday morning at 9.15 am. Anyone who wishes to, can meet together for a short time of quiet and informal prayer.
